bottom is pretty flat, which I need because of high arches and a toe joint injury from long ago that makes my toes splay out wider than most when walking. They are comfy enough for the office. I wouldn’t wear them walking a long distance on purpose. There is a little fabric edge that sticks out on one shoe and digs into my skin slightly, but pulling the tongue over it mostly fixes it for walking short distances. They do squeak at first, but that lessens with less than a day of wear.
